So cute that I just wanna hug all the kids in these stories. Except Lola. She still gets on my nerves. But Josh, what a cute little artsy distracted boy. I love him.

I enjoyed this book. I LOVED Josh and Isla together, they were so cute and funny, but I wasn't a fan of how it was an obssesive crush that turned into instalove. When they started dating it was okay. But the crush Isla had for Josh for 3 years was not normal.

I really related to Isla's insecurities, but when she said "And who am I to become without him?" I wanted to smack her. She was turning her issues into something about Josh. I'm a very insecure person, but even I know a person doesn't define me.

I LOVED the importance that Kurt had at the beginning of the story but through out the rest of the book I felt Isla was really unfair and mean to Kurt and by the end of the book their friendship didn't feel the same.

Overall I really enjoyed the book, it would be perfect with some changes. The ending was really cute, with everyone back and what Josh did <3

It's so stupid that I'm 35, and a YA book about a teen romance made me cry. There's just something really special about Stephanie Perkins' writing. No matter what your age, she can take you back to that feeling of being a teenager and falling in love. Of all the insecurities, the heartbreaks and the tightness in the chest that comes with it.

This book is really good, I enjoyed it and it was funny.. But sometimes it was just too much in the romance, Isla was a great character but I didn't like her as much as I liked Anna.. And the ending didn't satisfy me, but overall I enjoyed it and Stephanie Perkins' writing is amazing!

*spoilers I think*

That shit was so cute omg . I was not expecting them to get together that early in the book but I’m so happy the end leaves you pondering how they’ll be in the future. my opinion ? I think they’ll split a few times but eventually find their way back together in the end . Idk if I liked this or Anna and etienne more but I did appreciate their mentions and appearance at the end of the book . Anna is such a sweetheart

After 100 pages, I had to give up. I can not find a single aspect of this book I enjoyed, and just would rather move on to another book. Just not my cup of tea.

Critically
Plot - 3 out of 5 stars
The setting of this book really bothered me. It's shown as one thing and it isn't which was annoying. I felt like the romance between the main characters was rushed and there were some plot points that were based on behaviors by the characters that really bothered me.

Writing Style - 5 out of 5 stars
I've said this twice already but I love her writing! So emotive, full of life and interactive. Characters may change but her writing remains true to itself.

Characters - 4 out of 5 stars
Overall, the characters were okay. They weren't as unique as I am used to with this trilogy and a lot of things annoyed me about them but the farther I got the more I liked them. Isla was really annoying in the beginning, far too invested in a guy who she had little interaction with and a bit obsessed BUT I am really similar to her. Studious, always taking the safe choice and clueless about her future so I was really surprised when I connected with her so much. Josh I loved in "Anna" as a supporting character and I'm glad we got to see more of him in this one. His artistry was really wonderful and unique and although he has a few issues, overall I enjoyed him as our male protagonist.

Emotionally
SpoilerHalfway through this book I thought I would give it 3 stars and then I realized how eerily similar I am to Isla.

I was really confused and a bit annoyed over the setting. The other books in this trilogy take place in the setting advertised on the cover. This was took part in Paris most of the time, with some Spain thrown in for good measure. The least amount of time is spent in New York which is the setting advertised. That was aggravating.

Also, at first Isla rubbed me the wrong way. I found her to be too obsessed with Josh especially with such little time spent together. She was also too dramatic for my taste, taking things into too high heights. The only really thing I liked about her was her relationship with Kurt, who was one of my favorite characters.

But then we get to the park where Isla breaks up with Josh pretty much and I realized that in that situation I would've done the same. Isla and I have the same flaws and even the same hobbies as well as same worries about life. She pushed Josh away so she wouldn't be hurt by him first, she loves reading and being at home, she lacks a sense of adventure or better said of actually carrying out adventures, she feels uncertain about her future because she doesn't know what she is passionate about and it worries her since she has always been a good student. That's me in a nutshell. After that point, I started seeing her in a different light.

I'm so glad we got to look at Josh more closely. I loved him as a supporting character in the first book but we learn so much more about him and his life as a main character. His struggles with his family, how he hides who he truly is from everyone around him, his passion over art. It all made him a more tangible, complex and likeable character and I loved it.

Honestly, the best part was the connection of the 6 main characters in all the novels. The reasons for their time in Paris all fit so well and organically. I love how Isla describes Lola and Cricket with their crazy fashion, Etienne proposal to Anna in their spot and finally her and Josh's reconnection through a graphic novel. It was the perfect ending.

I fell in love with Isla and Josh nearly as quick as I fell for Anna and St Clair (who pop up in this book)!

I like that the tone of the book seemed more adult then the previous, with the introduction of more adult relationships, it feels like the story has grown with its readers.

Now, I did really like Isla. Isla is great, especially after reading the monstrosity that is Lola and The Boy Next Door. Isla is my favourite of all of the main characters in this series, mostly because she doesent dilly dally with her feelings like some other characters we know. However, after Josh and Isla got together... I didn’t care about the book anymore. Don’t get me wrong their romance was great and cute and blah blah blah, but I just couldn’t believe there was still over 100 pages to go after they got together before the end, and it shows that Perkins began to run out of ideas. I wish this book was one of the first in the series because I feel like if Josh and Isla didn’t feel like the last two characters to be thrown together, I think I would feel more of a connection to their relationship. I miss the feeling that I had with Anna and St. Clair, like there was this huge build up to their romance. With Josh and Isla, it just kind of happened and I didn’t care. The saving grace for this book is the first part, which made me fall deeply in love with this novel.
