 La historia trata sobre la vida de Obi Okwonko, un administrativo que trabaja para el gobierno que fue el primero en su pueblo en ser becado e ir Londres a la Universidad. Pero cuando vuelve a Nigeria, todo se empieza a desmoronar. Entre mantenerse fiel a sus tradiciones Ibo, la fe de su padre a la cristianidad, intentar de pagar sus deudas de estudiante, su casa, su auto y además a su novia, con la cual nadie quiere que se case, Obi esta aferrandose de las puntas de los dedos. Sobre todo, muy interesante. Nunca habia leido nada de Africa, ni un poquito. Y esta bueno poder encontrarse con otra perspectiva. Pero es muy realista para mi. Me gusta demasiado la fantasia para una historia así.

Not as banger of a book as things fall apart but how do even beat that book! Still an entertaining sequel.

Whilst disappointing compared to Things Fall Apart, it was an interesting view into the steady erosion of Nigerian society after the horrific effects of colonialism. However, the plot and characters made it a hard read and it felt lost compared to Things Fall Apart. An ok read, but not a strong book.
