A deliciously creepy - but not really scary - tale of a haunted(?) doll and three friends who find themselves on an adventure. Great look at boy/girl friendships and that awkward time between childhood and teen years when you don't really fit either of those labels.

Great mix of sweet and spooky.  I would recommend this for a middle-grade audience or as an easy read for older teens.

One of the best "transition out of childhood" stories I have encountered. Reminded me of that time in my life very strongly. It was the right amount of spooky without being overdone. Also a shout-out the audiobook narrator, Nick Podehl, who continues to impress with his ability to create new characters with his voice.

Writers and roleplayers will get something a little extra out of this one.

My library was confused whether to put this in the children's room or the teen room. It's pretty solidly middle-grade. Reminds me of A Green Glass Sea, and I'm not sure why, because I can't think what they actually have in common except for the age group.

This was a slightly creepy twist on a coming of age story, and I really enjoyed it.

Another great and spooky book recommended to me by my fifth grader. On top of being a little scary, it was very sweet.
