What a wonderful, easy read. Light yet compelling, the story of Atalanta isn’t one you usually find in Greek mythology. I’ve always been drawn to Artemis, and to learn the story of her protégée was incredibly fun.
An extremely relatable tale for any girl who grew up having to be ten times better at something to get respect from boys who thought they were automatically better simply because of their gender.

This blends this different myths about Atalanta into one story. If you want to be surprised, don’t google beforehand.
I remembered bits of Atalanta’s story, specifically her foot racing ability, before reading, which is what sparked my interest. I think Saint really tries to make this feel like a Greek epic. Many phrases and classic words from The Odyssey do pop up in here.
But I didn’t ever feel super engaged. I felt mad at Artemis throughout, and there wasn’t really anything super shocking or meaningful for me in the story.
