the way the women in this book are worn down little by little…my growing feeling of helplessness throughout the book. dangerous liaisons does a great job depicting how women’s lives are often controlled by the men around them.

also this book was written right before the French Revolution and is a direct commentary of growing class tensions. do rich people actually work bc all these characters did all day was sit around and cause problems

saucy & french & very brilliant so fluent as an epistolary novel which can buckle at the seams I find but Liasons wears intrigue and action so sharp & justice for the marquise , the real girlboss
