I'm not sure why this book is so highly rated. It's written like an eighth grader wrote it, and the last 1/3 of the book is all second-hand information since Crawford wasn't with Whitney all the time at that point in their relationship. The author makes herself rather heroic and everyone else is a bunch of losers, especially Whitney's family. That may be true, but Crawford made her own share of bad decisions in life and doesn't take much responsibility for them.

There are always three perspectives of the lives of celebrities: the first person (their eyes), the third person (the eyes of the world), and the often forgotten second person (the eyes of the people who really love them). I am grateful to learn about the beauty and ugliness of Whitney Houston’s life through the eyes of someone who loved her truly.

Fuck the Houston family and Bobby & his family for using Whitney as an ATM, what the fuck.

I know exactly why it took me four years to finally read the copy I bought. I knew it would leave me as heartbroken and sad as I am right now.

I appreciate Robyn telling her story, but I hope Silvia has the strength to tell her side because the Houstons did her absolutely rotten.

Excellent read for fans of the late great Whitney Houston. Told from the perspective of her once best friend, Robyn
