I’m not sure if my last read just left me slightly emotionally bankrupt but I really didn’t connect with this collection. I had high hopes because the reviews on the back cover sounded great and I knew that some of the pieces were inspired by Philippine politics and events. So, it’s a bummer that I didn’t find anything striking here. Yeah, I marked some stunning lines (and those that threw shade) but overall, I was indifferent, which is a shame because I usually pick up poetry collections to feel.
