Biggest quibble is why the heck is she wearing crotch armor?? Why does Clark get pants and knee pads, while Kara is stuck with an 80s leotard and butt shots?

Otherwise, completely enjoyed this.

As I did with Wonder Woman, I wanted to choose a female superhero who my husband hadn't already read. Although he started reading Supergirl when she became a Red Lantern, he hadn't gone back to the beginning (or the beginning of the New 52 Supergirl, anyway). I enjoyed this even more than I enjoyed Wonder Woman. Kara Zor-El is a confused teenager, unsure where she is or why. Finding herself on an alien planet, she doesn't know who to trust and chooses to lash out and ask questions later. I was able to sympathize and understand Kara in a way I didn't expect. When I finished this volume, I couldn't wait to start the next one.

I think I am just a sucker for graphic novels. Just wish these were longer.

I liked it. It felt pretty realistic about how she would have reacted.

I like the tidbit about Clark sounding like he learned Kryptonian from a textbook. That was neat.

A quick and enjoyable read. I'm a little disappointed in her reception on earth and the introduction of two villains right off the bat.

Rote. Paint by numbers for comics. At least her outfit was good, or at least it wasn't worse.

Read for Graphic Novel group at the store. This was OK, for me. The art didn't knock my socks off and two Big Bads in one trade arc leaves too many weird loose ends. Good way to introduce Supergirl - am interested in where DC is taking the character in the next issues of New 52.

I liked it! It’s got a lot to recommend it. It gives us some mysteries, some new characters, and let’s Kara be a badass right off the bat without letting her cousin define her. It’s got the origin and first appearance of Reign and the Kryptonian Worldkillers. Compare it to the first Rebirth volume, which makes her a kid with fake parents who are cops, and this comes our way ahead.
