Great- based on a true story tale about The Lost Boys of Sudan, life struggling to find & collect water every day, surviving in a war torn country & the struggles of a conflict filled country in turmoil. A very inspiring & hopeful tale, too.

listened to first half on audiobook & read second half! will be teaching this this year as it’s in our curriculum. has many emotional, traumatic, and devastating incidents for the main character (based on a real person) but overall hopeful at the end.

A very quick and enjoyable read. It's probably not something I would have picked up outside of the context of a reading challenge, but it's definitely not a bad book. I did like how the two stories eventually circled around to connect together

I listened to this book before I had to teach it to my 6th graders. I rushed through it and still found the story enjoyable. I think it is a good starting place to talk about world politics for young people, but as an adult I didn't find the depth I would have wanted if I had read the book for myself.
