Wow, way short. I looked to buy this book for like six months, and nobody has it! Finally, a library got it, so I rented and read it in like two hours. Short, sweet, still funny, but not quite as funny as a whole Dresden Files book.

Quick short story in the Dresden Files from a different character's perspective - which was refreshing, but I felt the actual story here had more to it but that Butcher wanted to keep it short so the resolution was fairly quick.

This is a quick novella centered on Thomas, Harry's older vampire brother. Not much to say about. It's really for the die-hard Dresden fan. If you don't read the series on a regular basis, then I suggest skipping this novella. All-in-all it's quick trip into the Dresden world as seen by Thomas. You learn little bit about some of the behind the scenes stuff that not even Harry knows about. More importantly, you get to peek inside Thomas' head, which is a dark and scary place. My biggest complaint is that it's too short. Thomas can easily be a main character in a full length book.

A Dresden book, and yet not a Dresden book. Told in the first person by Thomas, Harry's brother, this adds new insight into both Harry and Thomas's characters. I enjoyed the change of point of view!

It was an enjoyable read, and a nice change of perspective from Harry. But I never got the impression that the character I was following was the Machiavellian manipulator that Thomas Raith (and anybody in his family) is supposed to be. It was fun, he was clever, but this book is too small to be much more than a morsel to tide you over until the next novel.

Nice addition the world of Harry Dresden. Shorter than I expected, but still a good read that expounded on Thomas.

This novelette is set in the Dresden world but the main character is actually not Harry. I loved the interesting glance into Harry's brother.
Check it out. This is a great way to enter the Dresden world, if you haven't already found your doorway in.
