I read this book when I was a lot younger and I just remember how it really scared me as a kid. SPOILER - The girl getting hit with a bat being the most memorable part of the book for me. Now that I’m older I’m interested in finding books that are scary and when I started to read this and found that part to be less scary although as I continued to read a lot of the parts began to give me chills. SPOILER - for example the kids that slow-mowed the boy disappearing, and seeing that it was a monster terrifying looking thing yet he was greeting it with a warm hug. That definitely was like wow chills for me aha. I really enjoyed the book and I’m excited to read the next one.

Second time revisited. Easily as good as when I read them for the first time as a teenager, maybe even horrifyingly more so now as an adult.

Imagine a world where everyone 15 and older were to blink out of existence. Micheal Grant's young adult novel Gone is exactly that. This book has been out for a while now, I'm just slow on the bandwagon, and I finally decided to buy this as an e-book as it is on sale (currently $1.99 if anyone is interested). I loved that the book had me wondering what was going to happen but not so much that I would go crazy if I didn't finish it right away. I found the concept of the book to be interesting but it didn't blow me away. I love young adult reads but in this book found it hard to imagine little children going through what these children went through. I can't say for sure if I would continue with the series but for now I have so much more I want to read that it's way down on my TBR.

woah. I didn't think i could read this book. From the word word go, the world completely changes for everyone 14 years old and under. What about all the little kids? toddlers? babies?! suddenly, kids who aren't fully equipped with life skills to take care of themselves are thrust into the roles of parent, healer, security, fireman, and leader. How will they manage?
Although a lot of kids would welcome the phrase "no more adults", this story takes that and goes wild. strange things people can do with their hands, lots of ravenous coyotes on the prowl, McDonald's for free, animal mutations that defy the laws of physics, a shimmering (and shocking) wall with a 20 mile radius, and...romance? (just a little). And, of course, the traditional requisite bully. with magic powers.

This is a really really good book. At first I thought it was going to be boring and the beginning was kind of weird. But it turned out to be a great book! These are the books that I can't stop reading, it's like you want to read more and more. Really good book!!! Can't wait to read Hunger!

I started reading this book without knowing anything about it and I rarely read sci-fi genre books but I definitely enjoyed this book.

I like how the way the author switch between different characters' perspective to tell the story, it allows me to understand more about the plot and know more about different characters. Although I admit it take me a while to get used to it.

This book is quite graphic but that doesn't really bothers me because I love horror books and I've read quite a lot of gory stuff s(I hope this doesn't sound creepy:p). What really bothers me is the fact that all the terrible things in the book were done by kids 14 and below. I know it's just a story, but I just can't help thinking "how can people this young do all these terrible things?!" while reading, and that gave me mixed feelings and kind of affect my reading progress; like I wanted to uncover all the mysteries but I also didn't want to know what kind of things these kids are going to do next

Nevertheless this book keeps me on the edge of my seat right up to the end. I never know what's going to happen next(except about the "blinked out"part on Sam and Caine), and who to trust.

Reread: 3.5 stars.
