This book was so hot and cold. Both the main characters was very chaotic and flip-floppy and just didn’t know what they wanted. The ending/cliffhanger was fun tho 😂
This is the book where we get to know Michael Byron and finally find out what has been going on with Summer's sister Karma. You don't need to have read the Billionaire's series to read Mafia King but there are crossover narratives and the Seven are mentioned throughout. The timeline follows the narrative of the Seven with Karma's story starting around the time of Summer's wedding.
This is a gritty, dirty and heated Mafia romance focused on a somewhat forced marriage. You kind of get the feeling Karma isn't really forced in to doing anything she doesn't want to do. It feels consensual and meets some darker need in both of them to play this tug of consent war with both crossing boundaries of behaviour that are a little shocking at times.
Karma is a feisty, creative goth while Michael is a Mafia Capo looking for an allegiance with the Seven. His original plan is to kidnap and kill Karma. But once he meets her that plan goes right out the window. There is far too much repressed chemistry between the two. These two together are HOT and I love their constant arguing and to and fro. Karma isn't afraid to rebel when needed but to submit to have her darkest desires realised.
That ending though. I hate cliffhangers. Cannot wait for Mafia Queen.

I don’t even know what to say about this book. Like it was good but also the characters weren’t. Maybe I needed her to have more Stockholm syndrome? Maybe I needed him to admit to loving her? Maybe they were both real F****ed up and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Also, I’ve never read a slow burn mafia romance and this was a very slow burn. Did they do lots of other things? Yes. Did I feel c*** blocked by the time I got 75% in? Also yes. Was I super confused by the main FC’e attitude toward the main MC? Yes again. Am I going to read the next book to find out what happens? Absolutely.
The angst in this book !!
Ahhh now this is a mafia book. I came to read this one after reading summers book but this one blows that out the water. Karma bring summers younger sister is taken by Micheal the Capo of the Mafia. His ways are let’s just say unconventional but the heat this man gives off would melt any woman.
They have a turbulent relationship to say the least as Karma is feisty and stubborn who is a for sure match for Micheal and his ego.
Has feelings blossomed between them ?
The cliffhanger at the end had me shouting ! I need to know what happens right now
