This is how rom-coms should've been written, for sure.
I feel butterflies everytime he calls her name.
And my name isn't even Olive
Because I'm starting to wonder if this is what being in love is. Being okay with ripping yourself to shreds, so the other person can stay whole.

Recomendo!

This was my second Ali Hazelwood, and it did not disappoint! Such a cute fluffy rom-com that also had my heart aching at points.
The grumpy x sunshine dynamic is adorable, the fake dating trope will always be one of my favourites, and the developing friendship between Olive and Adam was a delight to read from the set-up in the prologue to the resolution in the epilogue. There is a tiny bit of miscommunication in there, which I don't really like usually, but to be honest I'd have also done the same in Olive's shoes.
I loved the academia setting and the themes explored relating to women in STEM. I loved the obscene number of references to Adam's height (seriously guys he's tall). I loved the light & witty tone, it is exactly my sense of humour. I was kicking my feet & squealing at the cuteness of some moments. It's light on the spice for a romance (not a negative by any means) but what's there is very intimate.
I ate this up in a single sitting and it led to me reading literally all of her other books straight after. Wholeheartedly recommend this to fans of fun romances.

this book definitely exceeded my expectations! it was a cute, fluffy romance but not as cringe as these kinds of books usually are.
i just got tired of olive lying all the time to everyone.
