Johnny Got His Gun is one of the most difficult and uncomfortable books I've ever read... and I loved it.

A book I would recommend to anyone. Incredible anti-war novel that makes you think deeper about the things humans lose in conflict.

I read this when I was a kid, it was one of my dad's favorite books when he was a young adult. Very heavy. Very good. A really short read, but worth it. I think it is a good read for anyone.

I found this book at a little free library!
With this book being not only far down on a disturbing book Iceburg, but also being more relevant that ever, I had to give it a try. What I got was the definition of liminal horror. It’s a book about being trapped in a Russian Sleep Experiment-esque type deal and not being able to know anything about anything. Not only is this terrifying but it brought out strong emotions as the character recounts his life choices and where he went wrong with his life. After suffering a terrible injury Johnny is all but stuck in his head with his thoughts and that alone is scary to most. I give this book 5 out of 5 for evoking a new type of fear in me.
