There were things I liked about this book and things I did not.
I liked the overall idea, plot, strong sense of place, and nuanced family relationships. The characters seemed a little flat to me, slightly one-dimensional in a way. The “big secret” honestly left me scratching my head a bit in confusion—the characters reactions to it didn’t seem all that believable.
All that being said, I did enjoy reading this.

Instant 5. There is something so humanizing about having to rebuild from square one. The twist made me audibly gasp, it felt like a paper weight was in my stomach the rest of the read. Gut wrenching but rightfully so.

I feel like this book would’ve been better from a dual perspective as the part which turned the book around for me when Anders had his own chapter it felt so refreshing to hear from another character! I needed some insight on how he was feeling throughout the whole book as I just got nothing from his character due to it being all from Wrens POV. I really wish I could’ve known what was going on in anders head this would’ve made the book 5 star for me. The best part of the book was the last 3/4 everything up until then felt slow and similar then all of a sudden everything was happening all at the same time so tbh it felt rushed. Overall I enjoyed this book though was a cute and emotional story and I liked the farm life setting
