Paige Toon never misses, and Only Love Can Hurt Like This might just be my favorite of hers yet. The atmospheric setting, rich with small-town charm and sweeping country landscapes, made this book feel like stepping into a heartwarming Hallmark movie. I adored the slow-burn romance between Wren and Anders, but even more so, the layered family dynamicsâ€”watching Wren reconnect with her half-sister Bailey and navigate life in her fatherâ€™s world was just as rewarding as the love story itself. This book beautifully explores themes of heartbreak, healing, and being the one left behind. If you love deep, emotional love stories with a stunning backdrop, this oneâ€™s for you!

Absolutely loved this! The book was very slow burn which made it a slow read hence the -0.25. However, I was in love with every single character and this book made me SOB!!!!!!! LIKE SOBBBBBB!!!! Strongly recommend this book it ripped my heart out.

I found the beginning of this book to feel a bit slow. It didn’t grab me and had me wondering what the hype was about. The second half delivered. It had me crying for sure. Very raw pain that you can sympathize with. A good story with likable characters and satisfying ending.
