This was the first Paige Toon book I have read and it definitely won't be the last. It was slow-moving but kept me hooked. There were no hidden dramatic romantic twists and turns but the way Toon revealed the issues that could keep the protagonist and her love interest apart felt almost like it would happen in real life. I loved the main character and how te story explored her familial issues as well as her romantic ones. All in all a good read.
This book had all the Hallmark cliche pieces you would expect and yet they all slide into place to create an entwining and emotional read. The way the author describes the emotions coming from the characters feels real and relatable.
The plot twist was *Chefs Kiss*. I didn’t see it coming at all. This book made me tear up a little bit with the ending. I love it

I'm conflicted in my thoughts about this, on one hand I really enjoyed it but on the other it kind of annoyed me and didn't pack to emotional punch I was anticipating, or maybe it's just cause I didn't really connect with the main characters. Although I loved seeing the development with her family.

I am glad I chose to listen to this one. The British accent pronouncing the truly British terms made it better. I definitely could not have created that in my central-Kentucky born brain. calling things like the trunk of a car at “boot“. I did think the growing of peaches in southern Indiana seemed to be a bit of stretch…since we live close to this region and peaches aren’t really the regular fruit at farmer’s markets. However, I did look it up and some farms do grow peaches. Who knew?!?! I really did love the setting of a place that I’m familiar with and all of the talk of farming. I have had ties to a farm on an all throughout my life so it felt familiar.
This book is definitely not a romance but a dive into the complexity of relationships and life. I think more than the “romantic” relationship in the book, I appreciate it, wren coming back and learning more about her family and developing her relationship with her father and sister. The closure that you get at the end is nice, but watching the evolution of these relationships felt more purposeful and enduring. The backstory of this book is not one like I have read before and so I definitely appreciate it that.
I have not read any books by this author. I will definitely be looking at others now. I highly recommend the audio version.
While this was predictable in almost every way, I appreciated the range of topics covered and I did find myself attached to these characters. Classic romance. 3.5 stars rounded up as I was truly moved!
Wow! This was a heartwrenching story about love and loss, in an uncoventional way. The characters are strong and the entire storyline is heartwarming. Recommend this book to anyone!
Meh. Maybe I’m heartless but I did not understand the hype around this “earth shattering” book. It kind of gave me “Verity” by CoHo vibes except it was honestly kind of boring in my opinion.
