I was so pleasantly surprised by this book, I read a lot of dark romance, spice and fantasy but this was a welcomed break.
This was such an emotional contemporary read. We follow Wren as she moves to America to spend time away from her ex-fiancé and her small town, we watch her grow and discover her love for her job again and get to know the family she didn’t get to have when she was younger. We also get to know her half sister and Jonah and Anders (I love them all

aw this book was so good it had me crying. HOWEVER, i felt like i had to push through the first half because wren and anders didn’t even KISS until page 328!!! i wish we had a little more of them together but the epilogue was amazing. the development of all the characters throughout the book was awesome too. i adored this one honestly

Wren flees to America for a vacation after her fiancé breaks up their engagement. Anders is still healing from losing his wife. It just so happens that their family farms are next to each other and their paths keep crossing. A friendship forms and through that comes healing and heartbreak. When secrets are uncovered and unhealed wounds are reopened, Wren and Anders have to decide what is worth fighting for.
Paige Toon knows how to write a romance that will tear your heart out. I listened to this on audiobook which is probably the only reason I didn’t sob when I got to the plot twist. Outside of Wren and Anders’ relationship, I found myself captivated by the family dynamics and watching each family heal the harm that has been caused over time. I definitely recommend for anyone who loves their heart broken just a little bit in a romance book and for anyone who hopes for family healing.

I absolutely loved this book!! It was sweet and full of love & laughter. It was so heartwarming and I enjoyed getting to know all the characters. I kinda didn’t want it to end. I’d welcome a 2nd novel to see how life continues for these family & friends.
I had seen reviews on this which is why I decided to read it. I needed something sad and sappy to get me out of a rut.
This was a slow-burn, heartbreakingly sweet story. A little corny (IYKYK) but it made the story for me!
The reviews sad I would cry, I didn't, and I'm a cryer by nature. However, I felt overwhelming sadness throughout the story. I loved the characters and their love for each other. They felt real and relatable.

I don’t care what you say. I bawled my eyes out, read it in a day and loved every second of being immersed in Indiana’s balmy summer when Anders and Wren fell in love. It broke my heart but it also mended it.
I can't decide if I liked this or not so it was just fine for me but I would still recommend it as a decent read! The unrequited love and the journey of healing from the two main characters I thought were done really well! I didn't expect the slight plot twist or my heart to break a little and I honestly thought this book would end on a sadder note but we got a happy ending, so that was nice.
