This was an almost perfect read - and I think on a reread it could be five stars.  This was the exact found family vibes I loved.  It was whimsical and a bit darker and had fantastic characters.  It just took me a while to get into it and it lost me in some places.  Highly recommend

Such an incredible book! I must get multiple copies to give away to friends and family! This book delights the inner child!

What a gorgeous cover for such a dull story.

I think I was expecting a lot out of this book since it's award winning. It was very sweet, and I really enjoyed the end--how all the narratives came together to create an interesting plot. Yet, most of the book was pretty boring. It seemed to crawl, and I couldn't really picture anything that was going on. It was underwhelming, but I think I understand the hype at the same time.

I honestly don't know what I expected, but it was not this. The book was extremely childish, even though that is the target audience, but the plot was very weak and the storytelling and world building were very lazy.

The synopsis is interesting, but maybe because it’s young adult, i would say that i would prefer if the author develop the plot further. Overall, it’s a book u should read when you need to wind down. Simple plot, simple words used. Prolly a book u can consider if u’re in a reading slump
