I wasn’t feeling this book as much as I would of liked. The relationship between the 2 characters felt forced and unrealistic. Even the main conflict in the book just wasn’t doing it for me, that also felt fake and not really helping push along the story at all. Isaac felt unoriginal and a little too aggressive. His conflicts with the main character felt tiresome after a while, I was just starting to think at the end that they should just end the relationship. I’m not sure if that’s what author wanted us the feel but that’s how I was feeling throughout the book. Even when other people were encouraging them to stay together I was interested.

Overall this was a 2/5 star book for me.

Isaac - blind with a bit of a defensive chip on his shoulder, he's been through several major losses in his life. Of course he's afraid of getting attached.

Carter - the new vet in town is instantly intrigued. He's not about to be bullied by Isaac and stands his ground - thus reaping amazing results.

This was simply a great story of two people falling in love, intermixed with some steamy moments and funny/silly banter. There was just enough angst in and amongst all the good feels.

I'm definitely beginning to associate N.R. Walker with total comfort fluff. I pretty much had a smile on my face the whole time I read this.

Cute

Oh, another cute story with animals in it! Isaac and Carter's story was adorable and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

This book suffers from one of my biggest pet peeves. The constant use of someone's name or a pet name. Every single one of Carter's sentences started with "Isaac, I-" or "Baby, we--" Multiple times within the same paragraph.

He. Knows. His. Own. Name. He. Ain't. Need. You. To. Tell. Him.

Also I got a very weird power vibe between them. Isaac came across incredibly immature and childish, to the point where I was concerned he might actually be a teenager and Carter should be in prison.

2 stars for the humans. An extra for the dogs.
