This is an excellent follow up to Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigade. It expands upon the universe in an enjoyable fashion. Several minor characters are fleshed out, but we only get minor development for most the main characters, which is a trait that I am noticing as I have read several Scalzi novels in a short span of time. Definitely worth it for the world building and some well-written dramatic scenes.

Side note: this is the second Scalzi book that I have stayed up well past my bedtime to finish. He clearly writes books that I want to read. I just wish he was able to take one or two more steps with them.

Another great entry in the series! The official ending to John & Jane's story, but I see there are more stories in the series and will definitely continue. There were a few jokes that didn't land and the "ninety-year-old dad" thing became old quite quickly. But overall: a fun story with lovely characters and an interesting plot that makes sense.
