I felt deeply invested in both timelines of this book which is rare for me. At times I was a little frustrated with Julia, but I appreciated the complexity of emotions the author captured alongside life changes and how she captured the past’s impact on the present. Maybe it was a little slow at times, but I still very much enjoyed it.
