This book was pretty good, I really enjoyed the plot and capaill uisce aspects of it. But this was not a mindblowing incredible book so this was more of a 3.75*. Would reccomend, though a bit boring in the beginning the pace gets a lot better as the book goes along

Maggie Stiefvater paints with words in this strange but intriguing novel. I found myself rereading sentences because I found her use of language so vibrant. The characters are interesting (I'd like to know even more about their back stories than she gives us) and the story is about so much more than a race. Enjoyed this one.

MY FAV OF ALL TIME

While not as strong as The Raven Cycle and less melodramatic than The Wolves of Mercy Falls, this is an underrated gem in Stiefvater's works. It's a standalone and it works best that way, but even as a teen I wished she'd write at least one follow-up. But maybe it's for the best this way.

Maybe if I was a horse girl I would've liked this more, but I was often uninterested and found the story to be slow. The premise of a killer water horse race seemed cool, but not I just feel bad suggesting it for book club lol.

why didn't anyone tell me I had to read this ASAP?!!?

honestly, it has been on my tbr shelf forever. Eventhough I loved the Raven Boys series and love Maggie Stiefvaters writing style.

But in all honesty... this might be the best book she's ever written?!
World building <3 <3 <3 It was as if I was right there.

Once it has all sunk in a bit I'll put it back on my tbr list so I can re-read it hahaha

This was honestly one of the best books I read in the last time. The story was a bit hard to get into but once you're in you never want to leave it. The characters are beautifully written and the whole story is so magical. Sometimes you think you're reading poetry because the words drag you in this world and you are completely and entirely lost. I also loved the feministic aspect in this book. Puck was such a strong badass character and yet not too much, so you can still easily realte to her. I can fully recommend this book and I immedeately ordered ''The Raven Boys'' another book by Maggie Steifvater.
