A sincere disappointment, as our heroine spends the book kidnapped and imprisoned by the "hero," and doesn't do much of anything except a puzzle. Lots of banter, but the lack of motion in this book makes one weary.

I’ve read most of Julia Quinn’s novels by this point and even though this one’s premise was a bit far fetched, I loved Andrew and Poppy enough to give it five stars. I liked him from the previous two Rokesby books and his witty banter and respect for Poppy kept him as one of my Quinn favorites.

By far one of my favorite Bridgerton books. My only complaint is that everything after the main conflict was too fast. I would have a liked a longer, more drawn-out ending.

What is a proper lady to do on a privateer ship with a handsome, devilish Captain to fall in love with?

I always love Julia Quinn's books, but this one I love a little bit more than most!

Poppy Bridgerton has her mind set on finding a cave, but when she does so, she finds a lot more than she bargained for. The cave happens to be the hiding place for a privateer, Captain Andrew James, and when he learns that his secret cave is not so secret anymore he sees no other choice than to take Poppy with him on his next voyage. To keep Poppy safe on a ship filled with supersticious sailors who believe women at seas is bad luck, Captain James installs her in his cabin and appoints himself her watcher. They may not actually like each other - in fact, they squabble like little children - but over the length of their voyage they grow to respect and even care for each other. However, Captain James has a secret - his real last name isn't James, it's Rokesby. And he isn't a privateer.

Julia Quinn is at the top of my list of favourite authors when it comes to regency romance books - and the Bridgertons are the reason why I feel in love with her books. So to see a Bridgerton crossover here was delightful!

No matter which Julia Quinn series I read, I always love her books. I just really loved this a little bit more than most of the others. I can't completely put my finger on the reason why, but I have a few suggestions:

This series is just not as good as the original, besides the first one.

Also were these two seriously gonna fuck while KIDNAPPED??? Idk dude but the threat to life and limb might kill the libido a bit I would think. Plus what are yall gonna do if the gang members walk in you? I'm baffled.
