a dirty sexy scota stubborn travel writer

Whew. *fans self* What a lighthearted, erotic story. I absolutely loved Kincaid and Mia, even though they are among the most stubborn characters I've come across. The sex scenes were so damn hot, I had to pause at times, as well as relegate the book to at-home-only-reading.

I do wish the book talked more about Mia's body type (because plus-size/bbw is my jam), but I appreciate how her body type was not the focus, and that Mia never worried about her attractiveness. That was so refreshing.

At times, the book slogged a bit (like when Mia was getting cold feet, yet again), so I almost wanted another type of conflict in the book. Still, it made for a very comforting story, and that's what I like from my romance.

Based on the cover and title alone, I thought I was about to be greeted with a lot of smut. So much smut it could make a sailor blush. What I got instead was a cute lil love story that made my heart warm. This was a great start to this year's book challenge. I especially identified with this as a Black woman who loves me a whole Scottish man and veterans. This was a solid choice.
On another note: I've actually met the author and she is a pure gem, wanting to bring more WOC representation in the romance world. I think she did a pretty good job with this book.

Excellent, refreshing, totally in-touch and relatable. The sex is aspirational.

Dirty Sexy Scot is one of my favorite books in the Under the Kilt series- all of which are fun and sexy, and promote positive, healthy attitudes towards sex and relationships. I loved that Blue gave us a good dose of pop culture (they meet at a con!) and slipped some total fangirl truths into the convention scenes. I really enjoyed the travel element, as well as how creative our main characters are in their choices of career and living.

Very little about this book (plot, characters, setting, conflicts, even HEA) felt tired or like it had been done before, by someone else. This book was Blue's entirely, and her voice was strong throughout.

Dirty Sexy Scot was really refreshing, for personal reasons, too. I spent a couple months reading only historicals (Regency is my drug of choice), not to mention doing research for my own historical romance. BUT when I needed a break from all that, this book was exactly what I needed to wake me up and make me smile (and turn me on... :P).

Clever and fun and kind. All in all, a deeply erotic read!

In this installment in the Under the Kilt series, which has some serious #dirtysexygeek undertones, Sherlock fandom leads to love. And I enjoyed every single minute of it!

For a Type-A, plan-every-detail person like me, spontaneous globe-trotting Mia was a fascinating heroine to read. I’m incredibly happy that the author made Mia into a fully-developed character when it would have been very easy to have her fall into the mold of a manic pixie dream girl. Mia’s motivations and internal conflicts are key in every decision she makes.

Kincaid is such a great hero. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. His ability to read Mia and his active seeking of consent combine to make him one of the swoon-worthiest heroes I’ve read in 2018.

This story is filled with humor, passion, and quite a bit of sexual frustration as Mia and Kincaid are repeatedly interrupted mid-sexytimes by friends and family. But overall it really is a warm hug of a book and I highly recommend it.
