4.5 ⭐️. I loved this book- it has similar themes to The Guncle. Super sweet and deals with themes of grief in a relatable way.

Definitely a heartfelt contemporary romance that explores grief and fear. It’s not a light read, but it’s beautiful. Trope wise: forced proximity!

Why was this so good?? I loved the narrator! She did such a great job of bringing all the characters especially the younger ones to life. I loved Jo’s relationship with her nieces, her best friend, and her budding love story with Alex aka hot yacht chef ❤️🫂🤩

It was cute and the banter was funny. I teared up a little during a heart to heart towards the end. One of my best friends adored this book and I definitely understand how this would have been an important story to her, but for me, it was meh. I was begging the author to stop telling me "he doesn't like me" over and over when we alllll know he does! And it's not that it's predictable, it's a romance after all, but the writing just frustrated me. Please show me their feelings and hesitations rather than telling me repeatedly.
