Another amazing addition to the Joona Linna series! I read this in less than two days because it was so fast-paced. The police receive a video of a woman standing in a window, but the video makes it clear that someone else is recording her and she does not know it. Then she ends up dead. Hypnotist Erik Maria Bark is called in to help, but the only way the case will be solved before more women turn up dead is if Joona Linna turns up. But it is presumed that he is dead. But is he? And can he solve the case? I love this series!
My least favourite Joona novel.
I thought it meandered too much and huge sections of the plot felt forced.
I'm intrigued to see where the writers go from here though.

Stalker was an amazing read for me, when I bought this book on Amazon, I was afraid because I had never heard of it and no one I knew has read it. But, it was one of my best purchases. I found out in the middle of my reading that Stalker is the fifth book in a series and I was a little anxious to continue reading, because I am one of those people who likes to read everything in order, but here in Brazil there are no books, so it would be kind of useless to complete this series of books.
About the book I must say that there were moments that made me angry, mainly due to the lack of communication between the characters, but when I reached the end I realized that it was necessary to get to that crucial point. I was really surprised who the stalker was.
Unfortunately for not having read the other books I did not feel much connection with the characters, I do not know if Margot appeared before or something of the genre, as much as the story stuck me the characters were not able to captivate me. However I highly recommend this book!

There isn’t much that I love more than a gritty thriller. But there is one thing, and that’s a gritty Scandinavian thriller. It must run in the family because my Mum is a die-hard Wallander fan. I hadn’t heard of Lars Kepler before I read Stalker, but I’ll definitely be reading some of the earlier books in the Joona Linna series (Stalker is #5.)
Lars Kepler is actually the pseudonym of two Swedish writers, husband and wife, Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, so I’m also excited to check out more of their individual novels.
Stalker already peaked my interest due to the subject matter. I love a crime novel regardless of the topic but books about stalking particularly interest me, solely because I find the concept of stalking absolutely terrifying.
The book is long and whilst I’m always open to reading a longer novel, I did feel like the plot dragged a little around the earlier chapters. However the second half of the book was incredibly thrilling and I whizzed through the final parts.
An aspect I particularly loved were the strong female characters. Unlike many crime novels, the book featured not just one but a whole host of strong females with their own plots.
I truly loved this novel. I read so many thrillers that I often find they’re all very similar and not actually very scary but with Stalker this wasn’t the case at all. The storyline was very different from anything I’ve read for a long time and I actually had to start another book alongside it to read at bedtime, because I was too scared to read this at night.
Stalker is absolutely terrifying in all the right ways and a perfect accompaniment to any Scandi noir lover’s bookshelf.

So vivacious and the ending is soso different from what I thought it'd be! You can expect a review about it tomorrow on my bookblr! (link in bio)

Thanks to the author for sending me this novella in exchange for my honest review.
Ainsley is a bartender in the hotel in an isolated town, whose mother is ill and needs care. One night, an intriguing man goes there, and she feels immediately compelled by Dane, with a shadow of mystery around him. And strange things start happening.
I had read Children before, so had some expectations for this novella, but, unfortunately, it wasn't as good.
I liked the eerie atmosphere, the setting (the town and the hotel, especially - I'd love to read more about them!) and the characters, especially Dane. I loved him!
The story had everything to be awesome, if it wasn't for its climax. It was too short and ineffective for me. I wanted more.
