Dave Ramsey
Great book to read during and after taking Financial Peace University. I’m sure I’ll read it several more times.
I don't know if I have anything to say that hasn't already been said about this book. It's not that the information is earth-shatteringly new. It's that no one has ever put it so bluntly before. It's like being hit over the head with that lightbulb (aha!) moment.
I read this book as part of Financial Peace University and it has been gratifying to see the changes in the way I manage my money.

Overall had some good advice, but was a very simple read.
This book is a great no nonsense approach to money management. This book and financial peach university has changed the way our family looks at money. If you are someone with debt and living paycheck to paycheck read this book!
This book is the beginner's guide for Finance Dummies who are looking to get themselves the heck out of debt. Dave Ramsey's writing is so easy to read- even in subjects of insurance, mortgages and 401(k)'s. I read this book in conjunction with the course, Financial Peace University and am feeling ready to tackle my student loan debt! With Ramsey's arsenal of budget-friendly, money-saving tactics we should be able to be debt-free in just a couple years.
Very helpful information and I am walking away with a lot of financial knowledge that I did not have beforehand. I also really like Dave, and think that he is a wealth of knowledge. Just a few things he said struck me the wrong way about “lady spending” and other things, but honestly I do know it’s all in fun and I’m not really that sensitive. Easy read, and he puts it into a good perspective for non nerds like me. Would recommend to anyone who wants to transform their financial future.
REVIEW: Good to very good financial advice for the masses. Half of it is basic stuff your parents or high school should have taught you, but didn't.
VERDICT: 3 stars for me but I'm giving it 4; this book is 4 to 5 stars if you are deeply in debt, or a moron financially naïve person.
AWARD: Most Unnecessary Exclamation Marks On Every Page. I don't think I've ever seen this many ! in a book -- ever.
MILD DOWNERS:
CAUTION: Dave's advice is mostly sound -- but it does not fit everyone in every situation. Pick and choose if you need to, but don't ignore his basic concepts:
FYI: You can also get much of Dave's helpful advice for free on his YouTube channel, which is more entertaining than you might think.

Dave promotes Dave and his 'Financial Peace University' ad nauseum. Some scriptures are repeated too many times. We can comprehend your words the first time, Dave.CAUTION: Dave's advice is mostly sound -- but it does not fit everyone in every situation. If you got this as a gift or found it somewhere super cheap, it’s a decent read. If you’re thinking about buying it to read, maybe just buy Total Money Makeover instead of this. I haven’t read TMM yet, but he references it way too often in this book.
This book has some very solid and practical advice on managing your money and getting out of debt. There are some things that I have a hard time swallowing, but overall I think that this book presents a tried and true method on living in a more fiscally responsible way. There are sections that are a little bit more heavy handed on religion, but I just skimmed over those.
