Hempel manages to write brilliant short stories, conveying an entire history with very few words. She wastes no energy on detail, writing only what you need to understand the situation. I first noticed her in the "[b:Flash Fiction Forward|337132|Flashforward|Robert J. Sawyer|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1173853613s/337132.jpg|327550]" anthology and eagerly sought out more of her work.

enjoyed all of this, some more than others, but overall the book kicked my teeth in (which i liked)
