This is my mother's favourite Agatha Christie book and honestly one of the best books I've ever read.

Anthony Cade returns to England doing a favour for a friend by delivering a manuscript. Another favour results in him staying at Chimneys where a murder has just occurred. Superintendent Battle of Scotland Yard is called in to investigate. Cade also decides to investigate.
An entertaining historical mystery.

Grabbed this at the library because I’d never seen it before (I’ve read a lot of Christie). Turns out to be an early (1925) and not her usual mystery. A lot of racism and British Empire colonial thinking. I’ve read other novels from the period (British and American) and I know the racism is common and I can usually overlook it. However this book was not interesting or well written to want to continue after a few chapters.
Not even halfway through and I didn't want to put it down, with a plot twist I didn't see coming. Anthony Cade is doing a favor for a friend and ends up entangled in a murder investigation. One of my favorite Agatha Christie's so far.

This one paled in comparison to the other Christie's I've recently read, but it involves aliases and royalty, so of course it's still fun! I am a bit biased toward her female protagonists (with the exception of Poirot), so maybe that's why I wasn't into this one as much.
