I quite enjoyed this one. It's interesting to see which stories get many adaptions and which ones are forgotten. Elements of this novel have been incorporated into the adaptions that I've seen, but this particular story hasn't been told. I think I see why... it's a little too icky in terms of the imperial Britain/Indian rebels stuff. It does introduce Mary Morsten, however! And that's a plus!
Another good Sherlock Holmes book. It was a bot old-fashioned in the way it dealt with race, but so is Agatha Christie and other such authors.

I really hoped to see more interactions between Holmes and Watson and their characters' dynamics, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case in book number two. Sure, we get some interaction but just not enough. The case itself was a bit boring to read and I have trouble with the language used in the novel.
