Fast, engaging read. I can't pinpoint what it is about Chamberlain's writing style. This is my 3rd novel by her and she has a way of sucking me it. Maybe its the time period, the realistic mystery, the characters? I don't know. I just know I liked it.

A little mystery, a little romance, a little history...
Thought I'd give Diane Chamberlain's writing a shot since she has great reviews, and I picked up The Stolen Marriage first. I liked the plot twists and the details of the setting, but wasn't too crazy about how many characters were conveniently killed off. Overall, a good escapism read-- one to pick up on vacation or when you just need to get out of your head or your everyday routine for awhile.

Diane’s best book in recent years! I devoured this in less than 4 days. Each chapter kept you wanting more. I kind of suspected the story behind some of the characters and was happy with how the story ended.
