Another fun small village mystery in this series. There isn't much more that I haven't said about this series, but I continue to enjoy it. I love how Hamish is casually smarter than everyone else. And how the author can write very silly characters who aren't too over the top, but are sometimes hard to believe. Nosiness and jealous always seemed to prevail over common sense, typically getting people into trouble. Hamish being attracted to everyone women he's with (it seems) may get old, but luckily it's usually presented in such a fun way.

I love a cozy mystery. Haven’t read this series before. I’ll definitely try another one.

Review - One of the best Hamish Macbeth books in my opinion. It involved so many different threads which all came together in the end. It was very clever and well worth a read. I think that the description in this one excelled the others I've read as well. I wish we had seen more of Priscilla in this one. I miss her. As much as I love Elspeth, Priscilla is my favourite. I felt that Hamish did lack a little something without her. A clever combination of characters kept me guessing until the end.

Good mystery! This one had elements that were harder to figure out than the usual Hamish Macbeth story, and it's always better when Elspeth is around.

Graeme Malcom's narration was excellent, as always.
