DNF.

I can usually read 400+ page books in one day if the story is engaging and interesting. I could barely manage to read a chapter of this a day.

• It’s boring.

• The characters are flat and unlikeable.

• The story is disjointed and all over the place.

• The editing is bizarre with far too much in italics and for some reason, more yet in bold italics. Paragraphs flip back and forth with no warning or cohesion.

• There is far too much flowery prose and far too little action.

I’m not going to continue with something so unenjoyable just to say I finished it.

I am truly baffled by the praise this book gets. Well and truly baffled. I felt like my brain was melting while I was reading it.
