Nick Cutter’s writing is so fantastically descriptive, but this story didn’t really do it for me. It felt long & the storyline being cut up the way it was made it difficult connect with the characters. I thought that the religious aspect of this book would’ve had me hooked from the start, but there was too much going on to really delve in to any one subject. Some of the twists were predictable, while others were underwhelming. It reminded me of Mexican Gothic by Sylvia Moreno-Garcia, which was another book I found pretty dull. But, if you like horror, Nick Cutter is a good way to go- just not my favorite.

Very slow at times, very gross other times. Not a bad book at all, just not for me.

I really enjoyed the last 2 Nick Cutter books I read but this one wasn’t amazing. Usually the creepiness of the unknown is what makes his horror books shine and this did have a little bit of that but it was mostly “gore horror” and “cult horror” which can make for a great read for some but isn’t really enough for me. I do like how he always has press releases in the middle or end of his books showing how the horror has leaked into society but is being pushed under the rug or not investigated or discovered

Nick Cutter’s Little heaven is grotesque and sick. With a tinge of a cowboy western, this novel also reminds me of the video game Outlast 2. Disturbing in every way possible, it also outlines evil and what it means to be vile. I definitely enjoyed it for the most part, but some things were a little too campy for me. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes a fast-paced ride straight into the bowels of Hell.

This drug along through the middle... Like there is so much not happening in all of its pages that I was left disappointed at some of the times we didn't get more answers. It felt like a cheap cop-out at times especially when the book is this long.
