This is an interesting take on the idea of genetic manipulation of future children. I felt, however, that it was a tad bit too long.

This book is a little disturbing. It centers around a man who goes to a fertility clinic at his wife's behest. It is a high-tech place that provides people with not only the possibility to choose some of their child's qualities genetically but also offers a "nudge" that would determine much of the child's future. As such, Sam is shown a series of videos that project the outcome of their child based on choices made at the clinic. As Sam watches them, he becomes increasingly more disturbed about his life choices and relationships. Going to a bar to think things over, he ends up with new information that makes him even more skeptical. this is a story in a series called The Forward
Collection and is a very short read

I started this book to really knowing what it was going to be about but ended up thinking it was pretty good. The beginning was giving me GATTACA vibes, but I was kind of confused about the ending and the people in the bar. Not my favorite book in this series but not the worst.
