Audible/Prime short story part of an Amazon Original Collection of stories set in the near future. Stopped a bit abruptly but that’s a generaI gripe I have with short stories. I’ll read anything by Amor Towles. Love his style of writing.

This story was reminiscent of a noir with the way the characters were portrayed. I really enjoyed how engaging each character was and the humanity Amor Towles brought. The ending was a little enigmatic, but overall I enjoyed it.

Great start but fizzled out
Review of the Audible Audio edition (2019) of the Amazon Original Kindle eBook (2019)

This short story speculates about a future when genetic manipulation would be able to influence the future personalities and life choices of the children being created. The setup here at the Vitex Labs is intriguing with 3 different scenarios being presented to a prospective father. His reaction takes him down some of the reckless roads that his potential future offspring could have taken. The ending isn't very intriguing though and the tag line title (borrowed from the father's car's autopilot) ends up as a disappointment.
The narration by David Harbour though was excellent in all voices.

You Have Arrived at Your Destination is one of six Amazon Original stories in the science fiction genre curated by author Blake Crouch.

I didn't realize that this was only a short story rather than a novel. I'm counting it anyway because Magic Mountain.

An imaginative exploration of genetic engineering.
