My comic guy handed a stack of old comics over to me last week and the Made of Wood story was at the top. He said it was a story that was very special to him. I was wondering why, considering he's not a massive Green Lantern fan and while he does love Batman, Bruce isn't his favorite in DC either. Turns out he's the murder victim and this was his first comic book appearance. Love it.

Fun friends aside, this was a really interesting story. James shows up dead with "MADE OF WOOD" carved into his chest, an exact replica of a murder spree from the '40's. I didn't know a Green Lantern had protected Gotham back in the day. Hell, I didn't even know Lanterns were basically immortal. Does that mean Hal doesn't age either? In any case, this is a good old fashioned mystery for Bruce and his closet full of fake beards to solve, with the help of an old friend.
