Very moving, loads of moments were you are at the edge of your seat and a suspenceful and beautiful story about a young girl going through high school and love. I am definitely going to read it again. I adore the way the writer sectioned the story in recordings rather than chapters. So unique and captivating.

I like this book, but I just can't bear the fact that he was a teacher and she a student...because no matter how effed up they were, there is no excuse for a teacher having friendly realtionship with his students...none... maybe later in college, when they are all grown ups, but not with minors...

I am a math and computer science teacher (but I won't be teaching, because I like other stuff more) and there is no way I would allow myself be emotionally involved with students...you just can't. No matter how bad their life is...

And that's why I wasn't really sad at the end of story...I know this is cold-hearted, but I wasn't. I wasn't happy, but it wasn't like with The Storyteller, where I cried as a baby.

Anyway, I enjoyed the story and it was interesting, that's why 4/5 stars.

“People drown, quietly, before our eyes, all the time.”

Its four in the morning and yes, you guessed it! I'm ugly-crying. Gah! Nothing prepared me for the powerful way this book ended. Absolutely, nothing! Drowning instinct just sucks you right up, feelings and whatnots!

This is really one book I'm going to re-read only a trillion times over. just until the entirety of the story becomes embedded in my poor masochist chest. it's the characters, for goodness sake. So twisted, so broken, so deeply unforgettable. Perhaps, I'd come around to actually write a more befitting review for this heart-wrenching book.

Right now? I just need a moment to absorb all the feels that Drowning Instinct has evoked in my chest. Just... *sniff* Just go read this book. *sniff*

Wow. That's all I can say now that I've just finished reading this book. I really enjoyed the reading experience and will definitely read this again at some point. I don't really have much else to say but I do recommend this book to others who find difficult topics, such as abuse and cutting, fascinating.

Well I'll be damned...

This book. Ugh. Bobby-O, this book was just superb. Insanely good. Addicting. Gripping. All of the words! What's even better about this book is by the time you finish it you just sit there and stare at your ceiling like "WHAT. WAS. THAT?"

The writing was my most favorite part out of everything inside of this book. I loved how the author played out this story through Jenna and her voice. The way the chapters are structured, the way Jenna explains everything so vividly, to her humor and wit.

I'm not telling you a thing about the story line. You can go in blind just like I did. All you need to know is I absolutely tore through this book and I never do that. Ever.

I'm also not telling you why I was such a sucker for this story. It had my top favorite story line in the history of story lines, maybe that will tell you something.

I'm so glad I was given the chance to read this book. I know it will stick with me forever. Shout out to Emily for knowing just what to send me in my time of need.

Ms. Bick, you got me. You got me real good. And I liked it. Mitch is all I see now too.
