An incredible novel in verse. I loved the setting, story, and exploration of gender identity. It was so refreshingly real and beautifully written. Can’t wait to read more by Taylor Tracy and so glad it received the Stonewall Award so I learned about it and picked it up!

oh, what a sweet, sad, hopeful book. this is the type of book that i hope every middle school reader has access to. may you always know you are loved.

This was a lovely coming of age middle grade novel. It addresses the many issues that youth growing into their LGBTQ+ identity deal with...living with controlling, religious parents, finding your "pod", bullying, self-esteem, etc. The audiobook was well done and I recommend reading/listening to this story.
