Good basic financial information in an easy to read story format. I disagreed with a couple of things (using a CD in retirement savings and using home equity loans for consumer debt) but otherwise solid information that I thought might be helpful for my children.

Good basic principles are there, I just wasn’t the biggest fan of the story premise and how it was delivered.

This is one of the better personal finance books I've read. The principles are sound and simple and explained well. The only problem I had was that some of the information was a little outdated concerning retirement contribution limits and education saving. I'd recommend this as a great introduction to taking care of your personal finances.

First book of 2024! What a way to start off, hopefully this means the new year will bring me wealth as I’m up to date in financial planning.
I was pretty shocked at this book to be honest! I went on not knowing to much, assuming it was like every other financial planning book where it’s a lot of numbers and a lot boring facts. But it’s actually told in a storyline sense, following characters in their own journeys to being wealthy.
I feel smarter having had read this book and I’ve already made steps toward making smarter financial savings and goals! As for the sequel, I’ll definitely be looking to read that as well!

While there is some outdated information, the main principles are sound and very easily understood. The storytelling and humour are corny, but better than reading your typical monologue-textbook format. It's personal finance for dummies, but most of us are financial dummies so I'd recommend it.

This book had good information, while being very clearly designed for American readers. I could still take many ideas and apply them to my Canadian life. However, the sound information was overshadowed by the unnecessary and cringey narrative that was woven into the information. The narrative elements have not help up over time while much of the finance information has.
