I have mixed feelings about these stories. On the one hand, the art and vibrant colors are great. The stories have depth and continuity. However, they are also dense and overly long. I appreciate them for what they are, but don't particularly enjoy reading them in a cluster.

Spider-man is funny and well written. Some of the plots, characters, and dialogue are dated, but it's mostly charming, not offensive.

This series really starts to pick up steam in this volume. The balance between romance, action, and weird Ditka craziness is perfectly balanced, especially in issues #27 and up. Makes me excited to get to the next one.

These are from '65, and it shows so endearingly, from talks about disarmament conferences to the "blamed" way Flash Thompson grates on Peter Parker's nerves. Can't wait to read volume four, when Gwen Stacy is introduced!
