I could not finish this book more than 40% of the way. It just doesn't feel like reading a book and it's more like trying to remember as much as you can while also trying to figure out the story from the abstruse way the author has written it. It's not my cup of tea.

An average story, though Addie and Dewey Dell were the interesting parts.

not light-hearted. i love the claim that faulkner wrote this in six weeks and didn't change a word. and i mostly appreciate the stream of consciousness writing style. but what i think i liked most is that faulkner tackles topics like abortion, feminism and sexuality and does so in a way that seems rather ahead of its time.

Er... I guess I just don't understand "classic" literature, because that was one of the most tedious and inane books I've ever read. It reads like if Steinbeck had suffered an aneurysm while writing Grapes of Wrath he would have written this instead. I'll stick to non-aneurysm Steinbeck...
