Just not feeling it. I don't like the main characters at all. I would like to eventually finish it to find out the mystery behind what is going on, but my library loan is up.

Lol nah. This is written like a bad movie. The plot is a good idea but most of it is just told to you as its happening instead of developing properly--show, don't tell. None of the characters are even remotely likeable so the suspense wasnt there bc I didn't care if they got eaten by the forest. Everyone is either screaming or shrieking or stuck in CAPSLOCK or else just poorly expositioning. Again, a good idea, badly executed.

What a creepy, terrifying book. Kids getting...swapped? abducted? possessed? This really went off the rails towards the end, and I would have liked either a cleaner ending or a more ambiguous abrupt ending? I felt like it kept going but didn't answer a lot of questions. Either way, still well worth your time for a good scare.
