Apparently the copy I found is the controversially poor original English translation. I'll probably find the more popular translation later.

i mean this was such a fun adventure to read. i loved how out there the characters and actual adventure was. the way that verne describes things in the book is so beautiful. the writing really was just so captivating. i’m excited to read more of vernes works! by far my favorite classic author i have read so far.

This was a very fun book! I can hardly believe it was written in 1864. I read it because I had never read anything by Jules Verne before. I can now say I will definitely read 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea in the future.
