Everyone worries when a new baby is on the way - even soon-to-be big brothers! This is adorable and helpful info.

Everyone thought he was just a different kind of girl. [...]Lots of girls didn't wear dresses.
But Aidan didn't feel like any king of girl. He was really another kind of boy.

This #ownvoices book is SO SWEET and the illustrations are gorgeous. I teared up a bit while reading. The story follows a young trans boy named Adian, who is so excited to welcome a new sibling into the world, but wants to be sure that the baby isn't pigeon-holed into an ill-fitting gender identity like Aidan was. I really loved this!

"Do you think the baby will be happy with everything?" he whispered. "I don't want them to feel like I did when I was little, but what if I get everything wrong? What if I don't know how to be a good big brother?"

Aidan knew how to love someone, and that was the most important part of being a brother.

Read less like a story and more like this is how life operates.
Gender fluidity is a big thing in life today, and should it be explored?
Sure look at it, examine it, but just because a kid does certain things doesn't make them trans.
Perhaps we should not put gender based social classifications on people and say this gender can do this and not that and then we wouldn't have so many issues with gender.
As a kid I loved playing with tea sets and dolls, did it make me a different gender - no.
Can a girl be interested in trucks and cars and engines - yes - does it change her gender - no.
Perhaps I am simplifying things but we tend to still say boys do this and girls do that as they did way back, however now we add if the boy or girl does the opposite they must be the opposite, and this is where I think they are in error.
Rant over - the book was ok, but as said, more of a believe me rather than a free story,
Should it be banned? - No - but it needs to be discussed and not blindly accepted.
