I’m kind of speechless about this one. I wish I remembered what source recommended it to me. There were a few nuggets of wisdom (like how much of your financial mindset comes from your parents beliefs, etc.) surrounded by so much cheesy crap. It made me cringe. And it was even worse because it was narrated by the author and he seemed to have such an arrogant attitude that it really turned me off. I love reading finance and economics books but there sure are so many bad ones you have to wade through to find the gems.
Good gauge to get your mind to thinking how to be successful NOT poor.
Recomendo vivamente.
Although I'm not particularly a fan of hyperbolic claims that are not backed by science, "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" does raise good points. Try to read through the book and focus on the things Harv wants to bring across.
Even for intelligent people it serves as an exercise to not get hung up by figures of speech and grandiose speeches, but rather find opportunities in everything to learn and grow.

This is a version of the law of attraction. I like many of the ideas including that how you think is the first step to success. There is at least one thing that I did not agree with. That is the idea that the author seems to be saying that you have to be will to work yourself nearly to death in the short term for a pay off in the long run. I agree that there needs to be action, I'm just not convinced that other parts of your life have to be forsaken for wealth.
second time reading this book and got even more out of it this time. This one stays on my shelf for another read
DNF - I read a lot of financial management books. I could only get through the first third of this book before I gave up. Overemphasis and glorifying “rich” at the cost of anything else. Old school view that the rich got rich because they were willing to give up everything including family, friends etc to work all hours to get rich. No mention that many rich people inherited their wealth and took it from there. He used Trump as a positive example of being rich. *eye roll*.
If you want a better book about finances, read Financial Feminist by Tori Dunlap or Money Out Loud by Berna Anat. Or even The Millionaire Next Door.

📚 2024 #87: “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker
📕 This book is a self-help book for changing one's mindset toward money, allowing them to build and maintain wealth. He does over some common limiting beliefs when it comes to money, such as thinking money is limited (scarcity mindset).
⭐️⭐️ 2/5: I may be in the minority here, but this wasn't for me. It could be that there wasn't anything new for me and I didn't jive with the overall tone. This was all the parts of "money mindset guru" stuff that I don't enjoy without a lot of concrete steps to take. It could have been a short blog post that I would have skimmed and promptly forgotten about. He talks about the importance of saving 10% of all incoming money (good advice). He goes on to say if you're already in debt and borrowing money to survive, borrow 10% more to put aside as savings. Questionable advice?? 🤨
🤓 You should read this if you think money and rich people are evil. However, I'd recommend "The Millionaire Fastlane" by M.J. DeMarco and "The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas J. Stanley instead.
