I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!! Natalie went to Chicago for her cousins wedding. She met Jaxon through an unfortunate event. She rescued Jaxon’s daughter Jessica from almost being kidnapped. I loved how Jaxon treated Natalie. Natalie and Jaxon both have my heart. I absolutely hated Colton cause he was very narcissistic. He had the audacity to beg for Natalie back when he was talking to the girl Emily that he cheated on Natalie with. UGH THAT ENDING WAS SUCH A CLIFFHANGER! But I am so glad that book 2 is out already.

I absolutely loved the narrators Maxine Mitchell and Grayson Owens! Maxine Mitchell did fucking amazing as Natalie. Grayson Owens also did fucking amazing as Jaxon. They both brought the characters to life.

Favorite Quotes:
“Natalie, I promise you, I am not a better man. Because I want to do a million sinful things to you.“

“But this… with you, feels different. No matter what I do, I just can’t stop thinking about you, Jaxon,” she says…. “And I don’t want to stop. I want you in ways I don’t understand.”

“Baby girl, I know full well I don’t deserve you. But, if you let me, I will worship you.”

I really enjoyed this book, and I’m looking forward to reading more of the series!

There were a few misses — spicy scenes were short and far apart; tension felt a bit underwhelming at times — but I found myself caring for the characters and I’m definitely invested in the story. Can’t wait to see where it goes in the next few books.

I didn't like the MMC and his reasons for bad behaviour.
Dialogue between FMC and MMC felt cheesey and pulled me out of the story.

This book starts with a bang and is full of twists and turns I never saw coming. The story is fast fast and highly addicting. Natalie and Jaxon don’t seem like a likely couple but between their chemistry and how when put in situations Natalie repeatedly proves she can handle the mafia life it goes to show they are perfect for each other. I loved how Natalie did take the the whole mafia thing really well but she still had reservations about it and she never cowered from Jaxon but would stand up to him if she felt like he was wrong or overbearing.

I wanted to listen straight through this audiobook just to know what will happen next. Maxine Mitchell and Grayson Owens being cast so well.
