Jeden z nielicznych przypadków, kiedy film jest lepszy od książki. Bo choć tematyka i lata są moimi ulubionymi, książka mogłaby zostać ciekawiej napisana. Oczekiwałam większego zaangażowania.

I'm not normally a fan of hostifical fiction, but this was an exception to the rule - perhaps because it was based on more recent history and a true story. The book is written from a first person perspective, which complements it's historical setting. It's worth pairing this with a watch of the film of the same name.

The pacing was very off, and yet this book really got to me. Something about the ever pressing closeness of war and try to accomplish something beforehand. Way too much thinking about legacy and what we leave behind. It’s not a perfect book, but is one that made me feel a lot of things.

This book was boring and unimaginative. Set with an exciting background, interesting characters you want to explore, and a hint of paranormal activity Preston still somehow made me fall asleep. He should have written a short text for a dry archeology/history journal and left it at that.

Also...wtf was with the gratuitous bath scene??
