I really wasn't expecting this book to take the path that it did. I started out thinking Addison was cold and unfeeling. I felt bad for Gabe. I thought the book was going to be all about their relationship with each other.

I was wrong. It was so much more. I realized Addison was not cold and unfeeling, she was scared of feeling. Gabe also had his own fears to work through. Cooper and Stella were sweet, lovable kids. I was pleasantly surprised to read how much they were incorporated into the storyline.

I enjoyed the kids and the family storyline more than I did the romance. I did warm up to Addison's character further into the book.

This was a sweet, romantic, sexy book about love, family, parenting, and overcoming fears.

If you are looking for a really spicy read, than, look no further than this book. Author, Erin Nicholas brings the heat in Going Down Easy. You will need a cool glass of water to cool down after reading this book.

I liked everyone in this book from Addison to Gabe's brother, Logan. Which, I hope that Logan gets his own book. He is a player but I think he just hasn't found the right woman yet. Talk about children who steal the spotlight. This goes to Addison's daughter, Stella and Gabe's son, Cooper. These two brought the charm and smiles.

Back to Addison and Gabe. There was a lot of sex taking place within these pages but I won't expect anything less from this book. Plus, I was fine with it as it was hot. Also, the author did a good job of not just making the story just about sex. There was a nice storyline that went with it. I will read the next book in this series.

This book has so many feels. I loved it.

Yes it’s a romance about Gabe & Addison; two single parents. And yes there are plenty of steamy scenes. But there is so much more than that. There’s family dynamics at play and each character learning so much more about themselves and what they are capable of and what they’ve been missing. There is just so much emotion in this book. It had me choking up a few times as I read but in a good way as the characters were figuring things out. I can’t wait to read the next one!!

Didn’t care for this as much as I thought I would at the start. I’ll write a longer review when the book club covers it.

“You have a kid?” he asked.
She nodded. “Stella.”
“Well, holy shit, Addison.”
“I know. I—”
“That’s fucking amazing.”
Wait, what?

This is my second book by Erin Nicholas, the first being Flipping Love You—book three in her [b: Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series—where these characters made a cameo appearance as a family unit.

I really liked seeing the parental-esque and sibling-esque bonds develop between the characters. Their family moments were so sweet. There were a lot of steamy scenes, which is great for those who like them, but for readers like me who don’t—I personally get bored—they were irritating. Fortunately, you don’t miss anything important if you skim through said scenes, which I appreciate.

I look forward to continuing with this series/universe in the future.

Heartwarming

Gabe and Addison. Honestly, I really disliked Addison at the beginning of the book. She seemed so selfish! But as the book progressed, and we learned more about her, I really admire her. And Gabe. I thought, initially, that he was a pretty “exactly what you see” guy, but he became so much more. I loved every moment of their actual courtship, and the single parents group, and Gabe’s awesome mom.

This started out strong. I was prepared to mark the book on my "The Perfect Man" shelf because of Gabe. Then he had an unnecessary temper tantrum and the book turned into a parenting manual. Other than Gabe's little issue, there were no obstacles for the couple. The book just followed them as they dated (until the aforementioned parenting manual) and overall, it was kind of boring. Lots of good sexy scenes and some yummy dirty talk, though. I probably won't continue the series, it just didn't work for me.

This book was fantastic!!

It felt different from anything I’ve read from Erin Nicholas before but still felt true to her storytelling. The pacing was great and don’t even get me started on the character development!!

Gabe was SO alpha but in a unique and refreshing way. I wish that more authors would write heroes like Gabe. He was so damn sure of wanting more with Addison and he was even more confident that it was going to happen and he didn’t hide it from anyone. At the same time he never tried to forced Addison into feeling or moving forward with anything until he knew that it was her decision. Addison was the perfect yin to his yang.

I loved how big of a role their kids played in this story too. Too often kids are written in as a sort of afterthought to the romance or just as an obstacle to the couples HEA. This was NOT the case here. Both kids were a very integral part to the growth of Addison and Gabe as individuals and as a couple. Their opposing parenting styles offered an even greater insight to who they were and the ways they still struggled with life, live and growth. There was some aspects of this book that really hit me in a way I wasn’t expecting and made me examine my own parenting style and forced me to feel ways I never expected to when I started this book.

This was a spectacular introduction to this series and certainly did a great job piquing my interest in the other characters. I can’t wait for more!!
